Department

Our Campuses in The Hague and Amsterdam consist of the school and the Skotel. The Skotel is the training and study hotel of Hotelschool The Hague. Our first-year students live and study together in the Skotel. Additionally, the Skotel functions as a commercial training hotel, operating a number of rooms for guests from outside the school. The Reception at Campus The Hague welcomes our students, colleagues and guests. Rooms Division is part of the Real Life Learning team, the practical education part of our curriculum.

General function description

You will coach and support our third year students during the day to day operations and managing the first year students working in the Reception and Housekeeping department. A typical shift would include:

Provide instructions concerning Housekeeping and Front Office procedures. Instructions are given in English;
Assist students when applying hospitality knowledge and skills in practice;
Responsible for the day-to-day operations, with regard to both administrative and management tasks;
Coach the third year students in their management skills in the outlets;
Support and assist students in their role as residents of the Skotel;
Maintain the high standard of hospitality at Hotelschool The Hague;
This position is for both our Skotel & Campus The Hague locations.

Candidate profile

You have/are:

Good communicative skills;
Several years of relevant experience in the hospitality industry, in Front Office and/ or Housekeeping, preferably international;
Affinity with education within the hospitality sector;
Excellent verbal and written command of English; (C1 level)
Experience in supervising students;
Willing to work irregular hours; there are 2 shifts, 7:00 – 15:30 and 15:00 – 23:30, these shifts rotate over 7 days a week on all days and holidays (except Christmas) and are subject to an irregularity allowance;

Remuneration

Hotelschool The Hague offers a salary based on scale 8 the labour agreement of Universities of Applied Science (CAO HBO) with a range between € 3.477,51 and € 4.595,29 per month, depending on your professional experience and qualifications.
