Hotelschool The Hague is looking for a temporary Junior Marketing & Communication specialist (0,6 FTE)
General
Within this role you play a key role in creating and delivering engaging content across a variety of internal and external communication channels, including social media and internal platforms. You collaborate closely with students, colleagues, and internal departments to support communication around events, initiatives, and day-to-day activities.
Department
The Marketing & Communication department is responsible for the marketing, positioning, branding, internal and external communication for Hotelschool The Hague. You will join a dynamic and international team of 4 people and several student assistants. Together with your team members you will create on- and offline content to contribute to the HTH brand and increase the visibility of our programmes. You will work closely together with your marketing and communication colleagues, but also work with other stakeholders within the organisation on different projects.
General function description
In this role you will create, curate, and plan written and visual content for all internal & external communication channels, such as Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube or the intranet and internal narrowcasting system.
You will work closely with our students and student assistants, creating engaging content for the different audiences.
You will provide communication support for internal stakeholders, departments like HR, Placement office, etc. regarding various internal and external activities and events that are happening at Hotelschool The Hague, such as graduations, conferences, career fairs and much more.
You will actively contribute to brainstorming sessions, bringing forward creative ideas to enhance engagement and reach.
Support the team with the development and execution of the (digital) marketing & communications strategy, ensuring a strong brand identity within the communication of the organisation.
Your role further includes administrative and coordination tasks, such as managing marketing materials and inventory, handling shared inbox communications, and coordinating merchandise requests to efficiently support colleagues.
Candidate profile
A HBO-degree in communication, English, journalism, marketing, or related field.
Proven experience in content creation and digital marketing.
You are well-versed in the latest trends and best practices across social media platforms, especially video trends on Instagram and TikTok.
You enjoy creating engaging and visually appealing content, from designing templates to writing engaging posts.
You are comfortable using various marketing tools and software, including design programmes like Canva and video editing tools (for Social Media videos). You also confidently work with AI‑powered tools to support and enhance content creation.
You work well in a collaborative environment and are eager to contribute to team goals. You are open to feedback and always looking for ways to improve.
You're hands-on, dependable, and have a can-do attitude.
Having a passion for hospitality is a plus.

Remuneration
Hotelschool The Hague offers a salary based on scale 7 of the labour agreement of Universities of Applied Science (CAO HBO) with a range between € 3.064,08 and € 4.084,93 gross per month, depending on your professional experience and qualifications.

Additional information
This position is offered for a fixed period, starting on 1 September and ending on 31 January, to cover a leave.
The work location for this position can be either our campus in Amsterdam and/ or campus The Hague.
