Are you an experienced HR professional with a strategic mindset, legal expertise, and a passion for education? Hotelschool The Hague is seeking a hands-on HR advisor to lead policy and project-based developments over the next 7 months.
You will join a multidisciplinary team of professionals in a challenging but friendly environment. Department
You will be part of the Human Resources department, which is responsible for delivering high-quality HR advice, services, and policy development to support the strategic goals of Hotelschool The Hague. The team works closely with management, employees, and external partners to shape a future-proof HR landscape.
General function description
As Strategic HR Advisor, you will play a leading role in the development and implementation of key HR initiatives. This temporary assignment focuses on strategic HR projects such as refining and further developing the job classification framework, advising on the Code of Conduct, and supporting the implementation of strategic workforce planning. You will provide high-level HR policy advice, act as a trusted advisor at strategic level, and offer support in translating legislative and organisational developments into applicable policy and practice.
In addition, you will be expected to step in when needed on operational topics such as absence management or task policy, ensuring business continuity and practical alignment with HR strategy. You will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and fellow HR colleagues to ensure effective coordination and implementation.
Candidate profile
You have/are:
- A university-level (WO) or higher professional education (HBO+) degree, preferably in HRM or employment law;
- Extensive experience in HR policy development and strategic HR projects, preferably within education;
- Proven knowledge of employment legislation and collective labour agreements (CAO HBO);
- Strong advisory skills and the ability to act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership;
- Analytical and able to translate complex developments into clear policies and proposals;
- Skilled in writing policy documents, implementation plans, and procedural guidelines;
- Proactive, empathetic, and a confident communicator.
Remuneration
Hotelschool The Hague offers a salary based on scale 11 of the labour agreement of Universities of Applied Science (CAO HBO) with a range between €4,535.76 and €6,359.47 per month, depending on your professional experience and qualifications.

Additional information
Hotelschool The Hague works with a 40-hour workweek. The starting date for this position is as soon as possible depending on the notice period of the applicant. This is a temporary position for the duration of 7 months.
