As a Privacy Officer, you will be part of a dedicated team focused on privacy, information security, and safety. Reporting to the Manager Facility & Real Estate and functionally to a member of the Board of Directors (BoD), you will be a key driver in developing, implementing, and maintaining privacy policies and ensuring compliance with GDPR (AVG).
General function description
Your Role in the Privacy, Safety & Information Security Team:
You will act as the central point of contact for privacy matters within HTH, ensuring privacy awareness and compliance across education, research, and support services. Working closely with the Data Protection Officer (FG), Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), and Information Security Officer (ISO), you will develop policies, advise on privacy risks, and oversee GDPR implementation.
Key responsabilities
- Develop and maintain privacy policies, translating them into clear guidelines, processes, and communication strategies.
- Serve as the main advisor on privacy-related issues, supporting management and various stakeholders.
- Checking Data Processing Agreements
- Conduct Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and advise on data breach handling.
- Manage the Processing Register, monitoring privacy risks and reporting to the BoD.
- Ensure compliance with GDPR and other regulations by developing privacy frameworks and monitoring their implementation.
- Collaborate on awareness programmes and provide training on privacy-related topics.
- Represent HTH in privacy-related professional networks and consultations.
Candidate profile
You have/are:
- A Bachelor/University degree level working and thinking level in a relevant field
- An Additional specialized training in the field of privacy, such as Privacy Officer training and/or CIPP/e and CIPP/m certifications.
- Understanding of the different roles and responsibilities within the organisation in relation to one's own role.
- Experience in a similar role
- Strong understanding of privacy regulations (GDPR/AVG) and their application in an organisational context.
- Experience in policy development, compliance, and privacy risk management.
- Strong analytical, advisory, and communication skills.
- Ability to coordinate across departments and balance legal, organisational, and cultural aspects of privacy.
- Fluent in Dutch and English, written and spoken
Remuneration
Hotelschool The Hague offers a salary based on scale 11 of the labour agreement of Universities of Applied Science (CAO HBO) with a range between € 4.535,76 and € 6.359,47 per month, depending on your professional experience and qualifications.
